Nov. 14 Poem A Day Challenge

Today's prompt:  write a poem involving lines.

*****

The trains move quickly through the tunnels,
faster than the cars moving overhead.
Crowded cars, people packed in,
heading home after a long day of work or
school or shopping or sight-seeing.
North and south, east and west,
colors and numbers to decipher,
trying to find the best, the fastest,
the least confusing way home.
The echo of the train's roar
sounds into the station as it approaches.
Brakes screech as it slows to a stop.
People get off, people get on.
The bells sound, the doors close,
the train slowly starts, picking up speed,
until it is barrelling through the tunnel once more.
