Nov. 9 Poem A Day Challenge

Today's prompt:  write a slippery poem.

*****

The rain falls in torrents,
forming streams in gutters
and lakes in hills.
The cold, wet liquid slides
down everything it touches,
rushing away once it
hits the ground,
moving in all directions,
left, right, down, circular,
flowing, flowing, fast-paced.

Rubber boots splash in the puddles,
yellow slickers and hats donned to
keep the water moving, moving,
away from the arms and legs and
feet and face.  Laughter rings out
as the rain falls and falls,
playing outside never seemed
more fun.
