Jobs (Exercise - aka My Silly Sonnet)

As the sun rises on another day,
Men and women make and face the new dawn.
Inside, a child-like call says, "Come and play,"
But, alas, the work day must carry on.

They race to their cars to sit in traffic,
The sun moving faster than anyone.
They sip their lattes with whipped cream so thick,
Thinking, "How did I end up with no fun?

The day is lovely, I should be outside
In a park, a field, anywhere but here,
Trapped in this car for an hour-long ride."
A call is made, saying:  "Listen up, dear,

What if we call in and take a sick day?
Then we can both just stay outside and play!"
